Children Deprived of Parental Care
Children around the world are often raised outside of a home environment and without the care of either biological or adopted parents. Without a parent as a natural advocate and protector, these children are particularly vulnerable.
Every child who is temporarily or permanently deprived of his or her family environment is entitled to special protection and assistance provided by the state. Children may be placed in institutions such as orphanages, group homes, foster family homes, relative placements, hospitals or other institutions charged with their care. Through these alternative care settings, the government must ensure to the maximum extent possible the survival and development of the child.
Ironically, these placements are often harmful to children. Many children face grossly substandard and over-crowded facilities, inadequate and at times inhumane care, physical and sexual abuse, cruel and degrading treatment, and life-threatening deprivation. Even in some institutions that are clean and provide adequate food, staff neglect children; babies are left to lie alone in cribs or small beds with no stimulation, play, or adult attention; adolescents are not provided the guidance and care needed to prepare for adulthood. Children and youth are often denied contact with extended family members and communities. Educational opportunities are frequently lacking and medical care abysmal. Denied the help and care of a natural family, many of these children and youth are further disadvantaged by systems that perpetuate abuse and neglect.
Human Rights Watch investigates the situation of children deprived of their family environment and seeks to make significant changes in the way children deprived of parental care are treated throughout the world.

Midget Queen
midget's name is karen ng,19. You can only call me shortie if ya name is tallie. I might be a midget but I'm no pushover and that's what make me a queen. My obsessions consists of shoes, bags, coats, great food. Currently i am addicted to peanut chocolates and coffee bean chocolates from Candy Empire and almond crunchy dark chocolate from Corduroy Candy. My primary interests are fashion, food, music. I am constantly looking for great food and probably the reason why i gained 5kgs and only lost 2. I hate writing emo entries and the girliest part of me is probably loving shopping for shoes (though i can only go on for max 2hrs) and have a great liking in rich and real good chocolates. maybe liking bubbles too coz looking at them gives people hopes. I think eating yucky food is so pointless like ieat said, " do not waste your calories on yucky food". My favourite colors are green, purple, brown and white. Which of these colors i prefer depends very much on my mood and the weather at that time.

New Discovery!
i have discovered somewhere interesting 2day.
a supermarket.
The Isetan Supermarket to be precise.
Most of the stuff there are imported from Japan so u dun get to see the stuff in the nortmal supermarket..
There are a wide range of tibits and finger food, cookies, lots of interesting stuff!At Shaw house basement..
And damn it only sandwiches and desserts are available at Marmalade Pantry and yeah rite.. All cupcakes are UNAVAILABLE!

Apple & rhubarb crumble..This is nice with the rhubarb not losing its freshness..The crumble is very crunchy oso...
Sticky Toffee Date Pudding..Kind of nice but still i preferred the Apple crumble..
Its not really MUST TRY!! kind... But i rather look forward to shopping at the Isetan supermarket instead.

drooling...
i kind of miss the things i did when i was young.
Like drawing...Simple but i enjoy it as much as eating a 80dollars meal.
i borrowed a whole set of illustration books from the library yest.
yes the colourful book is from the children's section.
well im looking for nice pictures for me to draw.. This is my 1st drawing after drawing the duck and the cat for nian's card.
He is actually a bad fairy and gets drunk most of the time.
My sister's first reaction when she took a look at my drawing is : " Why do you draw such a ugly picture?" She meant that the fairy is ugly himself not that the picture is ulgy itself. 
Where's my sock?? haha.
My mum reckon that im juz too bored.. haha yes but also because i miss those things that i enjoyed and i no longer do often anymore. anw to sidetrack abit i really love anna sui's design..

a Day of craziness
The GayS-- with wai meng wearing the pair of shades andrew bought for his beloved wai meng and the waiter weisheng..haha 
My Dad with his new hairstyle!! haha..he looked weird in this pic cohe was saying" Quick! Im going to cough!" 
Cant see our faces cos of the lack of light! (flash from the camera phone is nt enough) 
Another try..but failed. 
Another super failed attempt. Was at marine Sq with ying, my dad, nian, waimeng, andrew,weisheng, ashay,myra,jasmine and felicia yest. As usual there bound to have someone late..haha we changed our eating venue bcoz of my nia but she DIDNT TURN UP!!! kinda disappointed thought we gotta have a family reunion or something haha. So in the end we ended at cafe cartel of all places -.- and andrew turned up unexpectedly travelling from indonesia to spore juz for his lover wai meng..all of us are like AEI??!! and im proud to announce that andrew has yet to win ONE game of scissors-paper-stone he lost to me in every game from the 1st time i know him.MUAhahahahaha. With the 3 gays finished the three slices of unfinished birthday cake we bought for waimeng after even weisheng lost to me..muahahahhahahah..Well weisheng should put on some pounds... Heading to esplanade to take pics (duno y muz go there to take oso..like cant take where we are aready..)i actually wanted to go home coz i was super duber tired but my dad and ying stopped me( i would haf board that 960 darmit!haha) but in the end we saw waimeng's girl!hahahhahahhahaha. oh poor andrew.(aei anw i wan the pics we took las nite)
i shall not mention wad happen to me and dad after that..hahahahahahhaha.Just 5 worlds to describe wad happened : WE WERE JUZ TOO SUAY.hahahahahahhaha. its nice to finally meet up with my frens whom i haven see for a long time.
